Welcome to Blackstone, incorporated in 1845, and located on the southern border of Central Massachusetts- closer to Providence,RI than to Worcester, the heart of New England. Much of Blackstone remains undeveloped and a measured approach to combining residential and commercial growth seems to have worked well. Blackstone is a quiet, rustic town exuding New England charm with stone walls and picturesque scenes.

Blackstone's government is a five member Board of Selectmen with an Open Town Meeting held the last Tuesday in May. As of 2000, there were 8,804 residents with expected growth reaching to over 11,600 by 2010. Blackstone is only 109 square miles and average home price in 2002 was $246,500 with a tax rate of $13.50. Schools are joined with Millville and both communities participate with the Blackstone Regional Vocational High School. Total two town students are 2,236 children with 100% of classrooms internet ready. In fact, this school system leads the Valley with its website and integrated technology within the classroom for students and teachers. School choice is available and 54% of students will attend 4 year colleges while another 26% will attend junior colleges or higher education. 60% of high school juniors take the SATS and score averages are 505 verbal and 496 math.
