Real Estate and Property
The 2010 Actual Real Estate & Personal Property taxes were due on May 13, 2010. The Tax Rate for Fiscal 2010 was set at $14.05 per thousand dollars of value.
Preliminary tax bills for Fiscal 2011 will be sent on July 1, 2010 and the first quarter will be due August 2nd and the second quarter will be due on November 1st, 2010.
Abatements
Real estate and Personal Property tax abatements for Fiscal 2011 will be due 30 days from the mailing of the actual tax bill.
Exemptions
Statutory Exemptions on real estate property which include disabled
Veterans and Legally Blind, Elderly Persons (65 years of age) who
meet the eligibility as well as the financial requirements.
Also, Surviving Spouse (any age) Minor Child, Elderly Person (70) years of
age all of whom must meet the eligibility as well the financial requirements.
Qualifying persons must qualify on July 1for that Fiscal Year. Applications
may be accepted beginning July 1st until a three month period following the
mailing of the actual tax bill.
Excise Tax
Excise tax is due thirty days from the date mailed. If you do not have the vehicle listed on the bill and have either transferred or cancelled the plate, you need to notify this office. You may come in with a copy of your New Registration or Plate Cancellation or fax us at 508-883-7043 and we will process a refund if the bill is already paid. If it is unpaid, we will post an abatement to your present bill. Please call the office if you have any questions pertaining to your excise tax bill.
