Town Clerk
Dog Licensing Information
All dogs over the age of six months are required by law to be licensed with the town. Depending on the expiration year of the rabies vaccinaton, dog owners have the option of licensing for one, two, or three years provided the rabies vaccination is valid in the year of licensing. For example: your dog's rabies vaccination expires in 2004. We could issue you a 1 or 2 year license only. We could not issue a 3-year license because your rabies is only good for 2 years. Please pay close attention to the Fee Schedule listed below as there is also a slight discount for dogs that have been altered. The Town Clerk's office cannot license a dog without proof of a current rabies certificate. The Animal Control Officer may impose a fine of $25.00 for an unlicensed dog and an additional $50.00 fine if the dog does not have a current rabies vaccination
Dog licenses are available in the Town Clerk's Office Monday-Friday, 9AM-4:30PM and Tuesday evenings 5:30-7:30PM. These hours may be modified during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season. For your convenience, dog licenses may also be obtained through the mail. Please mail the current rabies certificate and any applicable neutering or spaying certificates along with your check made payable to the Town of Blackstone.
